Art Club
This year, in Art and Design, our focus is on sculptures. Children in KS1 have been looking at paper sculptures. They have used different curling and folding techniques to create their sculptures. " Look, mine is a playground!". Aria Y1
As part of our theme week, we have been learning something new and made a sculpture using clay.
In Year 3, we have created monochrome paintings in the style of Richard Travis Christian. The paintings are linked to our History topic about Ancient Egypt.
Year 3 - In Year 3 we have been doing lots of lovely art work including the design and technology part. Hope you enjoy looking at them as much as the children enjoyed making/drawing them.
Below are examples of Year 3 using the same skills as our artist Andy Goldsworthy - using natural resources to create a picture. Can you see what the children made?
Some children also went home and created 3D models of Stonehenge as their homework and Millie even went home and created a volcano following on from our Geography lesson in class. Jamie copied an image and some other children created pictures for the 'Save our field' project.
So proud of you all
Art Club
Well done to our Art Ambassador, who brought her bookmark ideas to Art Club!! As you can see we are very happy with our new bookmarks.
Art Club really enjoyed creating portraits out of clay, following their experiences of drawing and painting portraits in class.
Art Club were inspired by the artist, Banksy to create their own Remembrance artwork. They also created their own graffiti signatures.
The children have learned about teamwork through our ‘No I in Team’ Week. They produced some fantastic pieces of artwork, in their houses and performed poems during our Remembrance assembly- the Remembrance Art is on display in
the entrance hall.
Artsmark
We have now officially started our Artsmark journey and we're pleased to share the 'Working Towards Artsmark' work with you along the way!

Meet our Art and Design Ambassador, Layton Wallace !
Layton is creative and passionate about art and design, he makes a valuable contribution to the art curriculum and opportunities in art offered here at Clayton Brook Primary School.
Layton has already begun his duties as Art and Design Ambassador, by gathering feedback about the art curriculum and ideas for developing the art provision from this half-term's learning walk. Both Miss Liles and Layton were extremely impressed with the quality of art work they observed in sketch books and displays.
Additional duties will include:
- Organising and managing the schools Artsmark Award, coming soon.
- Assisting Miss Liles with organising and installing art exhibitions.
- Attending regular Arts Council meetings that will be held during school hours.
- Assisting Miss Liles with further learning walks, lesson observations and feedback.
