English

Autumn 1 - Greek Myths

This half term, we have been learning about Greek myths. We started by getting familiar with the story of Daedalus and Icarus and then retold the myth in our own words. We made sure to use lots of descriptive language so that our readers could build a picture in their minds. After that, we used our knowledge of the story to write a newspaper report about the tragedy.

Here is our shared write, retelling the tragic myth of Daedalus and Icarus.

Geography

Autumn 1 - Greece

This half term, we have been studying the country of Greece and comparing how people live there with life in the United Kingdom. We researched where Greece is in the world, and explored what makes it special, including its climate, physical geography, and human geography. We also used our creative skills to design holiday brochures, persuading people to visit Greece!

Next half term, we will travel back in time to explore what Ancient Greece was like.

Science

Autumn - Electricity

This term, we have been learning about the science behind electricity. We explored the importance of electricity in modern life and discussed how we can stay safe around electrical appliances. We also used scientific equipment to build circuits that made bulbs light up, and experimented with conductors and insulators.
